πŸš€ Getting Started

Do I need to register?

No β€” your BCH wallet address IS your account. Use it as the username and your first share registers you automatically.

Which address format can I use?

Both work: modern CashAddr (bitcoincash:q…) or legacy (1…). Pick one and stick with it β€” mixing formats splits your stats across identities. IMPORTANT: BCH doors need a BCH address β€” BTC doors (3336/3337/3338) need a BTC address. They look similar but are different networks.

Can I use my exchange wallet?

Technically yes, but we recommend a wallet YOU control (like Electron Cash). Exchange addresses can change or reject pool payouts. Self-custody is the mining ethos.

How do I set up failover/backup pools?

In your miner settings: Pool 1 = HashHarbor (primary), Pool 2 = any other BCH pool (backup). Your miner auto-switches if a pool has issues and returns when it's back β€” you literally never stop earning.

Can multiple devices share one worker name?

Yes β€” nothing breaks: payouts key on the address, and hashrate just merges under that worker. But give every rig its own suffix (.tv1 .tv2 β€” or .f01 .f02 for farms): unique workers let you spot a failing machine in your dashboard. Difficulty tuning happens per connection either way, so sharing a worker name never slows a rig down.

Can I point rented hashrate (rental platforms) at HashHarbor?

Yes β€” platforms that dispatch your contract to multiple physical rigs all connecting with just your wallet address (no worker name needed) work out of the box: our engines accept unlimited parallel connections with identical credentials (each gets its own difficulty and share space). Use the ASIC doors (3335 BCH / 3338 BTC) for big hashrate, expect one merged worker on the dashboard, and expect a short ramp-up burst of rejects in the first minutes β€” that’s difficulty tuning, not a problem.

⛏ Mining

Why does the pool show a different hashrate than my device?

Pool-side hashrate is estimated from your submitted shares over a rolling window, and varDiff adjusts your difficulty along the way. Device-side numbers are instantaneous. Both are correct β€” they measure differently.

My shares show as rejected β€” what now?

The first few rejections after connecting are normal: varDiff is finding your ideal difficulty and early shares miss the moving target. Persistent high rejection rates (over ~10%) after 10 minutes? Ping us in #support with your miner model.

Is my hashrate too small to matter?

Never. Our varDiff floor is 0.005 β€” desk clocks mine next to 100 TH/s farms and every share counts the same. We built this pool FOR small miners.

Can I connect a regular ASIC?

Absolutely β€” any SHA-256d miner works: S9, S19, Avalon, Bitaxe, NerdQaxe... For ASICs, use the dedicated ASIC door: stratum+tcp://hashharbor.net:3335 β€” it starts at difficulty 262,144, so you get clean shares from second one with zero ramp-up rejections. It runs SOLO: the finder takes the whole block (~3.125 BCH). Prefer steady PPLNS income? Port 3333 also accepts ASICs β€” varDiff auto-fits your hashrate after a brief ramp-up.

πŸ’° Payouts

What do PPLNS and SOLO actually mean?

PPLNS (Pay Per Last N Shares): when the pool finds a block, everyone who submitted shares recently gets a slice proportional to their contribution β€” steady and fair for any hashrate. SOLO: no splitting at all β€” if YOUR rig finds the block, YOU take the entire reward (minus the small pool fee). Think of PPLNS as a steady paycheck and SOLO as a lottery ticket. Pick per rig β€” both doors use the exact same login style, and you can switch anytime.

Why is my pending balance 0?

PPLNS accrues balances only when the pool FINDS a block β€” then everyone's slice is credited at once. At a small pool, blocks are rare (that's honest math, not a bug). Watch your shares grow on your dashboard β€” the balance follows the blocks.

When will I receive a payment?

Once credited, balances over 0.001 BCH are paid automatically in the next payout cycle (~10 minutes). SOLO finders get the full block credited instantly on find.

Are there hidden fees?

No. 1.5% of each block, that is the entire business model. No registration fees, no withdrawal fees, no minimum-balance games.

πŸ›‘ Trust & Security

Is support ever offered over DMs?

NEVER. All support happens in the #support channel on our Discord. Anyone DMing you offering help is a scammer β€” block and report them. Staff never ask for seed phrases, keys, or wallet files.

The pool seems down?

Check the status pill on the homepage and #pool-status on Discord. Pro tip: configure a backup pool β€” failover means you never stop earning.

Can I mine Bitcoin (BTC) at HashHarbor?

LIVE! BTC doors are open: stratum+tcp://hashharbor.net:3336 (PPLNS), 3337 (SOLO), 3338 (ASIC). Same login style: your BTC address as username. The finder of a BTC block takes the entire ~3.125 BTC reward!
